"Leaving out the physicality of Arnie and Antonio for this sort of game was brainless."

Agreed, although neither were much good when they came on.

As many have said Pellegrini needs to realise he isn’t managing Man City or Real any more.
With the players we have we have to turn up and battle at these places.
Soft yesterday and wide open. Not good enough at all from the manager and the players.

What does me every time is that nothing changes with different players and managers, same old West Ham...........

This is the WHU I have supported down the years. We want to play nice football and they want to win.

Despite our deplorable away form most of us expected, not hoped for, a somewhat comfortable away win. We delude ourselve.

Re: ⚽ Cardiff v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I am sure that the manager and players underestimated Cardiff due to their recent thrashings.

The 4-1-4-1 formation was imbalanced in favour of lightweight if creative players and left Fredericks and Cresswell brutally exposed

It was a bad decision - Antonio and the great sulk should have started

Given our injury woes and known lack of personnel in key areas, a certain permission to “take it easy” in this kind of away tie may be understandable.

But yesterday was taking the piss, especially out of the travelling support.

Overall it’s hard to be too grumpy with the season so far - we’ve been in no danger of going down for a while now and some of the performances have been far better than the last two seasons.

That said it’s fucking frustrating when you look at some of the points dropped, 7 away games without a win against some of the shit houses we’ve come up against is a serious cluster fuck.

Smacks to me of a squad which believes it’s own hype sometimes, although I can’t see how they don’t see a pattern of when they turn up thinking they’ll win they get rolled over!

Two full backs and two centre midfielders needed, could make an argument for changing all four strikers along with Reid and Ogbonna. Two much dosh getting spent on high wages with relatively low return on the pitch from individuals.

Pelle still hasn't addressed the ridiculously slow starts or the lack of desire vS the lesser clubs.
Yet anoter season to forget.

I seriously have no idea what you’re banging on about. I don’t think you do either.

But, in truth, I genuinely don’t really give a shit if West Ham lose any more because, ultimately, it doesn’t really matter. However, we should be finishing between 7th-10th with the squad we have. It’s that simple.

I’m guessing you had a drink last night?

Every West Ham fan is rightly disappointed with that result/performance.
Anyone who is surprised by it, however, obviously hasn't been following West Ham for very long.

Is it fasionable on here to call the new stadium the 'shithole' or the 'cesspit'

Re: ⚽ Cardiff v West Ham - Official Match Thread
There is a lot of moaning on here but whereas before it was about the quality of the team, its now about not getting results despite the quality of the team. I've been much happier since the board stopped their blabbing in the press and we have a manager who is calm, not an embaressment, and likes to play football. Changing decades of failure in a club takes time. We do need better performances and better players but this is a gradual thing. Fulham is a prime example of why you dont try and change too much in one go. This was a tepid performance. We do need some more fire on the pitch and someone who drags the team to better when things are not working. I just don't think what we have is as bad as made out by some on here.

Which makes the move to the shithole absolutely pointless as far as moving the club forward in concerned under these two cunts.

Agree with all of that except the "replacing" Rice bit. The physical and fast player needs to be alongside Rice IMHO but also needs to be able to play. Either a "Unit" or a Kante type but they are players everyone wants and will either need to be discovered via scouting or cost a lot of money which the owners will never sanction.

Agree on the full backs and strikers.

Husillos ( Dir of Footie) is gonna have to perform miracles with only 25 million + sales available :-(

We are improved from last season but it may well be temporary

Re: ⚽ Cardiff v West Ham - Official Match Thread
You hear Noble and Pelli bleating on about finishing 7th but it's nonsense, we can't even string two good performances together bar that little ore Xmas spell.
Wolves and Watford are streets ahead of us which says it all.
We will achieve a grand total of fuck all under Gold & Sullivan.

Re: ⚽ Cardiff v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Spot on

We have a lot of luxury players plus we are carrying a lot of deadwood still

Occasionally we will fire up, not good enough

We need a big fucking unit in midfield to partner Rice

A proper LB, a proper RB

A forward that works and links with the creative players

Re: ⚽ Cardiff v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I think Norms right, the squad is lacking character, no leadership on the pitch, with nobody standing up and calling it as it is, crying out for a Bonzo.

Let’s get it straight, that performance by our shower made a Neil Warnock side look good. Cardiff never even played well, but they didn’t have to.
